Grimoire Page: Spark Shooting Spell

Hey guys, Azalea here!

When I was little, I used to read fantasy books and try to quantify their magic system. I remember I had a whole notebook dedicated to the Eragon series, in which I wrote down all the magic words used. I wanted to memorize all of them, search for common base words, suffixes, and prefixes, and decipher any sentence syntax that might exist.

My little brother and I took to insulting each other in my made-up words that were meant to fit within that magical language. No one can get you in trouble for calling your little brother a “maggot baby” if they don’t understand what you’re saying, after all.

Anyway. I digress.

I’ve always loved hard magic systems, and I’ve tried to create one of my own in the Practical Guide to Sorcery series. So much so that I’ve compiled and illustrated some excerpts from Siobhan’s grimoire. I’ve only got a couple out right now, but more will be coming.

Most of the grimoire pages will only be available to those who support me on Patreon, but the first one is available to everyone, and I thought I’d share it with you as a fun little bonus, if you haven’t already seen it.

You may remember this spell from Sebastien’s first Introduction to Modern Magics class.

So, yeah. I’m a huge geek. But I thought it likely that a lot of my readers are huge geeks, too.

If you’d like to download a PDF version (I have both sepia/parchment color and black-and-white available), just head over to my Patreon and grab it.
